Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need. - Charles Dickens (1812 - 1870)
Today I was fortunate to meet with a mother whose child developed diabetes at 18 months age. She told all that she had gone through raising her daughter. She shared the struggle, happiness, pain, joy and frustrations of dealing with diabetes and a raising a child. But, today she is a real proud lady. Her daughter, who is an adult now, is a very successful young woman. She has graduated from college and is working in a big city. Now, a pumper herself, she helps a lot of people and young kids. She has developed contacts with other people around the world with diabetes and they all share a wonderful friendship. She takes pride in helping people with diabetes and the long term relationships she has developed with the all those people around the world. It was such an excellent experience for me to hear her story from her mother, who continues to make a difference in the community she lives in, helping families with diabetes.
We all live in an imperfect world. But it is a world were we can look forward for a better tomorrow if we share our experiences with others and reach out to the ones who need help.
More to come.... Dream a lot, Think creative, Work hard and Succeed.
