Politeness and consideration for others is like investing pennies and getting dollars back.
Thomas Sowell (1930 - )
One of the greatest virtues for a person is the capacity to be polite to others. When we learn to respect another human being, we learn to respect ourselves and respect GOD. I was on the phone with someone and when I disconnected the phone thinking the conversation had ended, the other person was still talking. Since it was a casual phone call and not an important one, I did not call back to apologize . My son saw that and immediately said, "Dad that was rude!!" So trying to stop the conversation, I said that it did not matter as the other person was younger than me ( which I now know was a wrong conclusion and an improper decision making tool to end a conversation). My son corrected me to say that, "we have to be polite to others no matter who they are".
Politeness is a very powerful tool. It can take your opponents by surprise. It can get you help in places you would not expect help from. It can take you to places where you would not have imagined to reach. You can never loose by being polite. It is important being polite not just to your superiors and to the people who matter but also to the weak and the less influential people.
More to come.... Dream a lot, Think creative, Work hard and Succeed.
