4th Lesson: Nobody is Perfect

I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is God's business.
Michael J. Fox (1961 - ), quoted by Lorne A. Adrain in 'The Most Important Thing I Know'

We have to accept the fact that we cannot be perfect. That should not stop us from trying to make it better everyday. We have all struggled hard all the time to do several different things and we get frustated when we do not achieve perfection. A small incidence happened one day when I was trying to explain the importance of learning and repeated practice. I told my son, "Son, you got to practice your typing, as you know very well -"Practice makes you PERFECT". My son after listening to my lecture said, "Appa (means dad in our language, Tamil) practice does not make you perfect, it only makes you better. Only God is perfect", and walked away. I have pondered over that statement several times and that has made me think and understand the practice of medicine much better than what I have learnt over past two decades. So friends, remember this and you will forever do better.
More to come.... Dream a lot, Think creative, Work hard and Succeed.
