All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence -- and then success is sure.

One of the best virtues a person can have is confidence. In the past couple of days, I have seen some interesting email exchanges between parents in a listserv I maintain for families with diabetes.
I was very impressed when parents were expressing the importance of empowering and building self confidence in their children. Some of the parents quoted how their children were taught that diabetes is not a disability and they are just like any other child. These children were empowered to compete in par with all the other children. I was very very happy!!
Being an Indian living in the US, I have never felt underprivileged. In my life, I have seen that God's blessing, our hardwork, and a lot of self confidence is all that is needed to succeed and be a productive citizen. I have never felt to be at a disadvantage because of my ethnic background at anytime. I have continued to teach/preach that to my children as well.
If as parents we can empower our children and let them gain self confidence, nothing can stop them from reaching dizzy heights of success in their lives.
More to come, Dream a lot, think creative, work hard and Succeed...
